It’s hard to look at things sometimes.
Even harder to see the good in the things we see.
Beyond the polarization. Beyond the systems that are “working as designed” and chewing up people in the process. Beyond the busy and the projects and the distractions and the demands.
One of my favorite musicians, known for some pretty dark music, asks us to look beneath the surface. Look at what is most important. Watch until the end of the video (I mean this both figuratively and literally).
We might not need to be as paranoid as Mr. Mould. A healthy dose of discernment and alertness doesn’t hurt.
Appreciate the people who surround you, support you, and love you.
Enjoy the moments of peace you find.
Perform the radical act of kindness.
And have some cake when it is offered.
